LIVE WELLington convenor Jane O’Loughlin attended the Congress for New Urbanism in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the end of May.
In this LIVE WELLington First Thursday event, she will talk about lessons learned from the city itself and from the New Urbanism movement.
The New Urbanism annual conference is a get together of North American urban designers and planners, with the aim of creating liveable, walkable cities – and escaping the tyranny of the car that blights so many American cities.
The city of Charlotte offered the chance to see light rail in action along with stream regeneration, heritage protection and cycleway construction
All welcome to attend this talk on Thursday 6 July at 5.15pm, at the Garden Room of St Peter’s Church, 211 Willis Street.
