Get ready to have your say on the first draft of the new Wellington District Plan by December 14th. The District Plan is the rule book for land use and determines what needs a resource consent so it's vital we all speak up for a liveable Wellington for all.
This draft Plan sets out proposals for widespread upzoning to six storeys and the removal of character protections as well as much else besides. Consultation now is a prelude to a formal legal process in the middle of next year. Unlike the Spatial Plan, District Plan decisions need to be evidence-based and so this is a great opportunity to push a more balanced and holistic approach to housing and our environment.
